Simon Shen
Director of Operations - Head Instructor
Simon is a certified USPTA Elite Professional. He played collegiate tennis at UC Santa Barbara, where he graduated with a B.A. in Business and Economics in 2000. Simon also played Davis Cup for Taiwan. He was the head instructor at Pacific Beach Tennis Club from 2002 to 2016, where he worked with elite level juniors and adults of all levels. Simon has worked at UCRC since 2016. He brings a wealth of playing and teaching experience to the club. As the tennis director and manager at UCRC, Simon is dedicated to revitalizing the club into a family-friendly community for tennis players of all levels

Danielle Devor
Tennis Instructor
Danielle “Dani” Devor was born and raised in San Diego, California. She started playing tennis at the age of 4, and shortly after that started hitting with Simon Shen as her coach at the Pacific Beach Tennis Club. Dani played varsity tennis at both Torrey Pines High School and La Jolla Country Day School, where she helped contribute to 4 consecutive CIF wins. Outside of high school tennis, Dani played competitively in many Southern California USTA tournaments. After graduating high school, Dani attended UC San Diego, where she graduated with a degree in Physiology and Neuroscience in 2020. Dani enjoys working with junior players and adults of all skill levels. She is a USPTR certified professional. Her positive and enthusiastic attitude make her a favorite for private lessons and clinic.
